How to enable PHP error display? Trying to find a syntax error but seeing a blank page

Hi everyone! I'm a beginner in PHP and writing my first script. I have a problem: when there's an error in the code, the browser just shows a blank white page instead of an error message. I don't understand what exactly went wrong.\n\nHere's an example of my code (file test.php):\n\n```php\n\n```\n\nWhen I open this file in the browser, I only see "Hello, Ivan! Today is 2025-03-15", and nothing after that. The page just cuts off. I checked all the lines but can't find the error. It seems like everything is written correctly.\n\nI've heard that you can enable error display, but I don't know how. I tried adding `error_reporting(E_ALL);` at the beginning of the file, but it didn't help.
