javacTask error: source release 8 requires target release 1.8 in IntelliJ IDEA
Hello everyone! I'm a beginner in Java and just started learning the language. I'm using IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition. I created a simple project, wrote a small piece of code:
```java
public class Main {
public static void main(String[] args) {
System.out.println("Hello, World!");
}
}
```
When trying to run the project through the IDE (Shift+F10), I get the error:
```
Error:java: javacTask: source release 8 requires target release 1.8
```
I'm using Java 8 (jdk1.8.0_281) installed on Windows. In the project settings (File → Project Structure → Project), the SDK is set to 1.8 and Language level is 8. In modules, everything is also configured to 8. But the error still appears.
I've tried many tips from the internet: cleared the cache (File → Invalidate Caches), rebuilt the project (Build → Rebuild Project), changed the settings...
