How to properly work with strings in Rust? Problems with ownership and conversions
Hello everyone! I'm new to Rust and have encountered difficulties when working with strings. In other languages (Python, Java), strings usually behave intuitively: you can concatenate them, modify them, pass them to functions without unnecessary complications. In Rust, however, I constantly run into compilation errors related to ownership, borrowing, and the String vs &str types.
Specific problem: I need to read a username from stdin, then add a greeting to it and output the result. I tried the following code:
use std::io;\n\nfn main() {\n let mut name = String::new();\n io::stdin().read_line(&mut name).expect("Failed to read line");\n l No answers yet.
