New Framework for JavaScript (Node.js) Gains Popularity Among Developers

The world of web development on Node.js continues to change rapidly. A new framework has recently appeared on the market, which has already managed to attract the attention of thousands of developers worldwide. We are talking about FastCore (a conditional name reflecting the general idea of the novelty) — a lightweight yet powerful tool for creating server-side applications.

Unlike traditional solutions such as Express.js or Koa, the new framework offers a fundamentally different approach to code organization. Developers promise significant performance acceleration, built-in support for modern protocols, and minimal configuration. The project has already gathered over 15,000 stars on GitHub, and its documentation has been translated into 10 languages, including Russian.

Why FastCore? Key Features

According to its creators, the framework was conceived as a response to the growing complexity of modern applications. Here are the main advantages that set it apart from competitors:

  • Lightning-fast performance. In benchmarks, FastCore outperforms Express.js by 3-4 times thanks to the use of a native C++ module for request processing.
  • Built-in support for WebSockets and SSR. You don't need to add additional libraries — everything works out of the box.
  • Automatic validation and typing. Based on Zod or Joi schemas, the framework itself generates middleware for data validation.
  • Zero-config for TypeScript. The project fully supports TypeScript without additional tsconfig settings.
  • Database integration. Built-in ORM for PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis simplifies working with data.

How Does It Work? Code Example

For comparison: a typical Hello World on Express takes 5 lines. On FastCore — just 3:

// Example on FastCoreimport { App } from 'fastcore';

const app = new App();

app.get('/', () => 'Hello, world!');

app.listen(3000);

As you can see, the syntax is concise and intuitive. At the same time, the framework automatically handles errors, CORS, and request body parsing.

Community and Prospects

An active community is already forming around FastCore. The Discord platform has gathered over 5,000 participants, and dozens of tutorials are being released on YouTube. Large companies such as Vercel and Netlify are considering the possibility of including support for the framework in their services.

However, one should not forget about the competition. NestJS, AdonisJS, and Koa remain proven solutions for complex projects. FastCore will most likely occupy the niche of rapid prototypes and API services where development speed is important.

What's Next?

The developers plan to release a stable version 1.0 in the first quarter of 2025. Plans include GraphQL support, improved Docker integration, and creating a CLI for quick project startup.

If you work with Node.js and want to stay on trend, be sure to check out this framework. You can install it via npm:

npm install fastcore
