Job Market for Go Developers: +40% per Year

According to data from the HeadHunter analytical center, published in December 2023, the number of job vacancies for Go (Golang) developers over the past year increased by 40% compared to 2022. This makes Go one of the fastest-growing programming languages in the Russian labor market.

According to the report, the average salary for a Go developer in 2023 was 280,000 rubles per month for senior specialists and 180,000 rubles for middle-level specialists. At the same time, the number of offers for junior developers increased by 55%, indicating high demand for entry-level specialists.

"Go has become the language of choice for high-load systems and microservice architecture. Companies are actively migrating from Python and Java to Go due to its performance and ease of maintenance," comments Alexey Smirnov, CTO of TechnoSoft. "We see that 70% of new projects in fintech and telecom are being written in Go."

The main growth drivers were: the development of cloud technologies (Kubernetes, Docker), an increase in the number of startups in the fintech and logistics sectors, as well as the need for high-performance APIs. According to GitHub, the number of Go repositories grew by 32% in 2023.

Experts note that Go developers have become some of the most sought-after specialists on the market. "Demand exceeds supply by 2.5 times. Companies are ready to hire developers with at least 1 year of experience, offering flexible conditions and relocation," adds Maria Kuznetsova, HR Director at DataFlow.

However, not everything is so rosy: the number of resumes from Go developers increased by only 18%, creating a talent shortage. "The market is overheated. Many companies are poaching specialists, offering salaries 30-40% above market rates," warns labor market analyst Dmitry Ivanov.

Forecast for 2024: further growth in vacancies is expected by 25-30%, especially in the Middle and Senior segments. To enter the profession, it is recommended to study Go in conjunction with Kubernetes and microservice architecture.
